On today’s show Rob chats with Mike Bledsoe who is the CEO and host of Barbell Shrugged, as well as the co-host of Barbell Business. Mike has been referred to as “the Steve Jobs of the barbell world,”and in this episode Mike gives us an inside look on how he has grown his business brand, his fitness routines and lifestyle goals alongside his three buddies Doug, CTP, and Chris.
With Mike’s powers of persuasion he was recently able to get his whole crew to move out to Encinitas, California where the team is currently based and working hard.
Mike’s Fitness Routine
In terms of Mike’s personal fitness routines, he makes a point to try new methods on a weekly basis, “your mind will hide your weaknesses from you,” he explains to Rob.
So what is Mike’s training advice for beginners? Test drive different pre-planned programs, trainers, classes etc., and see what feels right! After trying on different options you will know what is good and what isn’t, “…like how you know that doughnut isn’t good for you!”

Then, Rob and Mike get into GAINZ and the proper post-work out meals for gaining weight or loosing fat and most importantly increasing your energy to keep on training.
