The Best Cardio Workout for YOU

Everyone always asks me, “Rob, what’s the best cardio workout if I want to see results.” It’s a great question and the answer is very simple, but I always follow the question with a question, “Well, what kind of cardio do you like to do?”

Here’s what I’m driving at: if you like to run, than running is the best cardio for you. If you like to swim, than swimming is the best cardio for YOU. If you like to jump rope, well you get the picture. The most important part of picking the right cardio routine for yourself is whether or not you’re enjoying yourself and whether or not you’ll be willing to do it again tomorrow.

If I was to tell you spin classes are hands down the best cardio workout in town; makes you sweat like crazy and will tone up your legs and butt like nobody’s business would you do it? Maybe. But would you like it? I don’t know. If your butt hurts from the bike seat and your back hurts from being bent over for 45 minutes, maybe a spin class isn’t the best choice for you after all.

Look, I don’t care if you do Zumba, spin class, hot yoga or, if you’re smart, a Sky Fit Boot Camp. If you’re not enjoying yourself, you’re less likely to stick with it and more likely to get frustrated and give up. Make sense? We all know consistency is the most important part of being healthy and fit, so make your choice the one you wouldn’t mind doing 3 to 5 times a week!
